MEST4 Linked production: Research and planning *REMINDER*

1.) A music video with a narrative that presents a young Muslim man being oppressed by society and is left feeling isolated as a result. Scenes included in the video will have a very realism kind of tone, such as events that go on in everyday life and the discrimination/prejudicism the subject goes through. In addition, it also includes the representation of the black community. The music video will showcase their stereotypical presentations, and in this case they are the ones who are seen to be hostile and aggressive towards the Muslim figure. After the music video ends, there will also be a voice-over narrative that summarises the issues derived from Islamophobia and their effects on the Muslim community.

2.) Black Veil Brides - Knives and Pens
- This Ameican rock band music video portrays an "emo" and his daily life being oppressed by society. It presents his normal day of life, including going to school and being bullied, as well as his psychological damage that has essentially turned him into the "emo" way as he is now. This as a result links in to the linked production as both characters are being victim to prejudice and discrimination in the way of how they look.

Pace: The pace of the music video is generally slow and mellow in respect to the song. However, in certain parts the pace does significantly rise, especially in specific scenes such as when our protagonist hallucinates.
Colour: the colour grade of the music video varies. During towards the end when the Muslim figure attempts suicide, the visual aspect and mood are synonymous. Given this, the color grade will then be very dull and depressive - black and white.
Tone: the tone of this music video is going to be sharp and quick to match the shots.

Feel of video: the feel of the music video is going to be quite tense because the viewer is stuck between the decisions of whether they are going to capture the wanted man or is he going to escape. Towards the end the feel is much calmer as the viewer has nearly understood most of the video. At the end they have to make their own conclusion as there is no end to the video.
